Torres de Serranos

Over the Christmas period we spent a day in Valencia and for the first time we visited the Torres de Serranos and I can recommend to anyone visiting Valencia to try to fit it in.
Built in the 14th century in Gothic style it is part of the old city wall and was traditionally the main entrance.
The view from the top is spectacular and well worth the climb. Other than the view and the towers themselves there is not much more there, it is not tourist attraction with displays and artefacts etc so it’s not a day out but once you have finished you are able to walk through the gates and wander around the old part of
Valencia and the shops and cafes situated nearby.
As you walk around you come across churches, plazas and fountains and everywhere you go you are surrounded by the wonderful architecture of the city. Valencia is a very pretty city and in the winter the orange trees that line the streets bear fruit making it even more picturesque.
I hope you enjoy the photos!
